Palmetto Subsea Inspections, LLC is a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) service providing underwater solutions and surveys, supporting commercial diving operations, inspections for municipal water storage tanks, scientific research, and broadcast filming, and Remotely Operated Vehicle training. PSI is in North Charleston, South Carolina, on the Cooper River. We are veteran-owned and have been associated with the commercial diving community as pilot/technicians, divers, and commercial diving educators since 2016.
An ROV pilot/technician handles the operation, maintenance, and repair of an ROV and its systems. ROVs accomplish tasks in underwater environments that are often too deep or hazardous for human divers. Duties vary as ROV uses range from subsea oil and gas development projects, construction, maintenance, and repair to surveys, subsea cable/pipeline laying, salvage, and scientific research.
Palmetto Subsea Inspections remotely operated vehicle training program is a 4-week course designed to give those interested in opportunities in the ROV industry an introduction to related skills. The program is certified by the Association of Diving Contractors (ADCI).

The remotely operated vehicle (ROV) training program at PSI is the only public training program for ROV pilot/technicians accedited by the Association of Diving Contractors - International (ADCI) and open to the public.
The program is available to prepare those interested in employment in the ROV industry.
Courses covered include basic electrical principles, high voltage safety and troubleshooting electronic circuits, and electronic test equipment operation
Maintaining and repairing the ROV systems, tether splicing both standard conductors and fiber optic tethers.
Introduction to industrial hydraulics
Operating ROV equipment like cameras and sonar displays for navigation and inspection, and intervention tools such as robotic manipulators
